FOOD FIRST, INC. AND
RELATED ENTITIES
Food
First, Inc. is a non-profit organization
serving victims of domestic violence, families affected by HIV
and economically
disadvantaged segments of the population for over eighteen years.
The Various
programs
operated by Food First Inc. include:
- The Family Project: 24hr State licensed
emergency shelters for
families who are victims of Domestic Violence. In addition to safe and
secured
apartments, residents receive individual & group counseling and
advocacy
services including case management, childcare and family counseling,
parenting
skills classes, vocational counseling and computer instruction/GED
- Pantry Program:
Weekly pantry bags are distributed in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn.
- Conover House: Is a
supportive-housing program that serves families affected by AIDS in a
stable, nurturing environment. The program is located in the Red Hook
section of Brooklyn. Conover house
families reside in fully furnished apartments. In addition to housing,
essential services in clued case management and recreational services.
Services are individualized to insure that families receive the most
appropriate care to foster health, stability and independent living.
